How did we get here?
In 2010, I realized that I ran to food whenever I felt stressed or not in control. After gaining 25 pounds; I hated the woman I saw in the mirror and felt that I had let myself go. I was convinced that if I worked out a couple of times per week, I would get the body I wanted and finally love myself. Boy, was I wrong! Because after years of trying that approach I was still in the same place.
Thanks to my cousins (a nutritionist and a professional athlete) I learned that exercising did not exactly translate to being healthy. They taught me to first focus on food: how to cook your food, how to portion your meals correctly, and how to have a life while doing it. Quickly, I began losing weight, but more importantly, I learned how to love the woman I saw in the mirror. For the first time in my life, I felt in control.
Today, my relationship with food is completely different. I eat more fruits and vegetables, drink more water, and have a lot more energy. I’ve been able to lose those 25 pounds and keep them off for almost five years and counting. Over the years I’ve created healthy recipes that allow me to still enjoy some of my guilty pleasures, like fries.
I want to share everything I’ve learned with you, and show you how to start living healthier without feeling overwhelmed and deprived. Using my tips, you will learn that healthy living is tasty, affordable and fun.
